Need to increase women doctors in India: KTR

Hyderabad: City-based AIG (Asian Institute of Gastroenterology) Hospitals, a multispecialty hospital said it held a conclave for women-in-medicine, aiming to find a solution for bringing in inclusivity in the current healthcare industry.
More than 400 women medical professionals took part in the day-long conclave which had five sessions covering topics such as leadership and mentorship, work-life balance, non-orthodox medical specialties for women, social entrepreneurship, and diversity - inclusion. In each session five women doctors and two male doctors shared their opinion.
Doctors from the city including Dr C Mallikarjun, Managing Director and Chief Consultant Urologist, Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology, Dr Evita Fernandez, Managing Director, Fernandez Hospital, Dr Gopi Chand Mannam, Chief Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon and MD, Star Hospitals, were part of the panel discussions.
As the chief guest, KT Rama Rao, Minister for IT, Telangana govt, in the keynote address emphasized on the need to increase women doctors in India and he also encouraged women medical professionals to take up entrepreneurship.
Dr Reddy said that the conclave created a platform for discussion and finding solution on increasing women participation in super specialties.
